The Honor Society of Leap Year Day Babies was launched on April l7, 1997, with the sole purpose of celebrating people born on Leap Year Day. Since then 1000's have joined the society. Their ranks are listed in our Honor Roll. Leap Years happen once every four years, with some exceptions.
February 29, Leap Year is everyone's extra day. It represents balance and harmony between the earth and the march of the seasons. In the same way volunteering and doing something nice for someone else brings balance and harmony to our individual lives. What better way, in this day and age, to celebrate balance and harmony than with a special day to promote it... at least once every 4 years with an extra day to do it.
It's probably THE most important day on the calendar because of the position it holds and the duty it performs. If we did not have an extra day every four years we would not be able to predict, with such precision, what days the other holidays will land on. This extra day has only one purpose. One reason for being. It is there to maintain balance between the calendar and the spinning earth. Let's Celebrate the Spin and recognize Leap Year Day! Our goal is for February 29 to receive the recognition it deserves on the calendar.
